Councillor puts family first

 

Former Councillor Betty Kay has officially tendered her resignation to the Circular Head Council after a leave of absence due to health concerns in the family.

Councillor Kay told the Chronicle on Monday that she would be resigning, feeling that she can no longer complete her role to the standard that she would like to, given the uncertainty of the situation.

“For the health benefit of Mervyn I feel that now is the time to move on,” Cr Kay said.

“We need to look at our lifestyle and I need to do what is best for my husband.”
