Devil death-toll rising

Residents of northern Circular Head are fed up with the amount of roadkill on Montagu Road with 70 disease-free Tasmanian Devils killed by cars throughout 2021 and a further 11 found dead since the beginning of 2022. Numbers continue to climb despite virtual fencing having been installed along sections of the road. Circular Head Council were challenged on their protection of the animals at their Annual General Meeting held last month, with concerned local Audrey Critchlow putting a motion for council to consider further action in 2022. Further updates will follow in a future edition of the Circular Head Chronicle.
