Zack Mitchell shares his experience of ANZAC Day in Antarctica. 

Starting the day off with a Gunfire Breakfast (rum and coffee) the dawn service was moved in doors due to the unpredictable weather bringing in gusts of up to 140km and blowing snow.

The Last Post and an Ode were played followed by the Australian and New Zealand National Anthems.

We played games of two up and enjoyed a hot eggs and bacon breakfast, followed by a movie in the cinema “Gallipoli’.
