Moodie dominates youth league

Local girls Ella Moodie, Darah Grey (C), Leahna McLaren (VC) and Annalise Hursey have competed and won the North West Football Youth Girls Premiership for the Wynyard Cats.

Throughout the season, Moodie was named best player on five occasions. She kicked 35 goals including a season high seven goal haul in round one, a bag of five goals in round four and six in round nine.

She was a standout player for Wynyard throughout the season, leading the competition’s goal kicking tally whilst also earning 12 Best and Fairest votes to become joint Best and Fairest winner for the entire competition, sharing the award with Latrobe’s, Georgia Perry.

McLaren, Grey and Moodie were all named best players for their efforts on field in the big dance, Moodie and McLaren slotting a duo of goals each, and Annalise Hursey also contributing with one of her own.

The Cats won the match 6.3.39 to Ulverstone’s 3.3.21.
