After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, Twilight on the Duck will return to Smithton this year but will look a little different. A DAY on the Duck is a summer celebration on the banks of the Duck River which offers family entertainment with live music, quality food and drinks, and free kids entertainment. The annual duck race will also make a return for families to enjoy. This year’s event will be held on Saturday January 28 instead of January 26, from 12noon until 6pm, at West Esplanade Smithton. Entry is by gold coin donation. Circular Head Council’s Jodie Saville, said, “The change of date is in the hopes of attracting more stall holders and entertainers who are usually otherwise engaged at Australia Day events along the coast. We have received funding to assist with the fireworks display which will go ahead on the January 26 as normal thanks to Tall Timbers and the National Australia Day Council.
