Smithton Wellbeing Indoor Recreation and Leisure (SWIRL) has recognised a group of dedicated aquatic members for joining their ‘100 Club’, by swimming 100km or more in 2022. A celebratory morning tea was held on Saturday February 18. Amongst the collective of centurions is 72-year-old Anne O’Mahony who not only swam the required 100km but managed to complete an extraordinary 324.75km throughout the year. Donning her swimmers and goggles, Anne heads to SWIRL six mornings a week to maintain her health and wellbeing. Not just satisfied with cutting laps of the 25m pool, Anne has also recently won a full access members six-week challenge which sees participants collect points by completing daily workouts, lifestyle challenges and attending classes, all designed to increase motivation, momentum and accountability around training consistently.
