16 Days of Activism is Wired for Change

16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that kicks off on November 25, and runs until December 10.

This year’s theme is ‘Wired for Change: Technology’s Impact on Gender Abuse’, which looks at the impact that technology has had in shaping gender-based abuse and violence; how it has been a force for bad but also how it has impacted the world positively, with the Soroptimist International of Circular Head supporting a number of key initiatives throughout the campaign dates.

The jewel in this year’s crown is ‘Walk the Talk’, which will see the organisation team up with Smithton Rotary Club, Smithton and Rocky Cape Lions Clubs, Stronger Together in Circular Head (STiCH), Circular Head Youth Leaders (CHYL), Smithton Library, Circular Head Men’s Shed, Wyndarra, and Rural Health, to hold a peaceful walk through the streets of Smithton.
